all that needs shown in picture. Everyone is different. You have to find your gun mount and fit. Its like looking for the perfect pair of shoes. Birdtracker

    Ken,
That is not a "belly" that is a front stabilizer, it helps when shooting in the wind. Woody Sullivan RAOTF LMAO

The Illustration above is about as good as it gets ... That belly is a recoil counter weight besides stabilizer ... I also like to use mine to hold fuel for a sex machine ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Birdtracker's photo of Leo is a pretty good illustration of gun mount, stance, and body positioning.

    Notice the following:

The comb is firmly buried in his cheek.

His lead (left) hand is extended well out on the forearm. Those with shorter arms should extend the lead arm as far out on the forearm as he/she can comfortably support the gun's weight.

His right elbow is elevated which tends to lock the butt stock/recoil pad into the pocket of his shoulder.

His head is mostly erect and both eyes are horizontal to the ground.

His body is upright with weight balanced over his feet.

His knees are slightly flexed and both feet (heel to toe) are flat on the ground.

I pretty much mount my gun the same way Leo does, he just hits more targets than I do ... I look taller because I'm a little thinner (in better shape) than Leo, but I still have the counter weight thing going ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

If you are looking for comments, I would say both the two gentlemen shown have what I would consider very good shooting posture. I have tried add on ribs and every stance I can figure out and I simply can't stand up that straight and see down the rib. I shoot a PFS which takes the recoil related neck pain out of my shooting and lets me bend forward and get down on the stock so I see down the rib the way I want. It is a matter of practice and trial and error, IMHO.

Elbow down, head forward on stock, no counter recoil devises on equipments and better shape operators .

These are winners in the Olympics. :)

I have the belly like Leo. If I copy his stance, will I shoot like him?

I actually think Big Leo and I are about the same height but I look taller ... I am going to try the elbow up a little bit thing to see if it works for me but I have shot with my elbow down for so many years which is the way I was tought to shoot a shotgun as a kid, but elbow up with a rifle ... I'm not even going to try and argue with success and if there is anyone who has the edge on that it would be the Big Man ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

    Ross,

Mount looks good, stock looks even better, just a question ? by the above photo, you have to be extra careful around the "Workshop" I think unbeknown to yourself you have brushed the top of your hair against some grey paint.
(LOL) As if I can talk..

    Gaz.

PS. Are you shooting the Fox next month.

Hemlock that is one beautiful bow mount, and what a form, she is erect in her form and now so am I. It is the hunter not the arrow.
