    Alcohol dissolves shellac, not lacquer.

I've been cleaning my guns with a mixture I make of about a half teaspoon of automotive pressure washer soap in a quart of blue windshield washer solvent. Spray it on...wipe it off. Then put a little Pledge on the wood finish and some Boeshield or Corrosion-X on the metal.

Gunzilla, a vegetable based prduct out of Ann Arbor I believe. Every one around here swears by it. Not too pricey and no smell. It cleans lubricates and protects. I will post particulars tomorrow when I find my bottle of it. The Army and Marines swear by it also! Bill
