    Good Afternoon,

Had a email conversation with Gunbroker. Their rep informed that Jimmy Carter and not the debt agencies caused the current crises.

    Must be selective memory )

    Take care,

    Jim

I was looking at our old home mortgage last week. It was from the Peanut Farmer Era (1980). Interest rate on it was 16.0%. We paid that one off as fast as we could. If you owed a bunch of CDs back then, you were rollin' in cash. ;-)

I don't understand how it could be possible that a conversation between you and a representative of gunbroker could have devolved into a discussion about Jimmy Carter. I would imagine that representatives of gunbroker would only be allowed to discuss site-related issues on company time.

Please explain the series of correspondence that lead up to this.

It all started with a program that Carter sponsored. It was called something like keep it in the neighborhood or something like that. The program tried to get people in houses with stained credit. I don't remember it exactly but the Clintons expanded on it with the same idea getting people in a house when they didn't qualify. From there we get into Barney Frank and it all went downhill. Another case of Govt. getting into private business when they had no expertise. If you want to track it 'google' Carter and the housing industry. Bulge.
