WTF? Are they claiming FFL's in California et al got to personally keep firearms otherwise banned to everyone else in their states? And, the number of FFL's has dropped by at least half due to legislative action and BATF racheting up the criteria. Do they really think they're going to get a large influx of new FFL's?

Not that I would take away from the site's awareness of gun grabbers' plans, but it looks like a BS alarmist site for promoting "Home FFLs"....The recurrent theme is: "Concerned about _______? Get an FFL!"

Home FFLs are hard to get these days. Since the great "shake out" of the late 1980s and early 1990s, getting an FFL as a "hobbyist" is no small task. Meeting requirements for: insurance, state and local licensing, inventory security, showing a full time business plan, etc. is no "hobby"

The days of getting an FFL to get dealer prices and a discount break for ordering three, five or ten models of one gun, to keep one for yourself and stashing the others in boxes in closets and under your bed at home, until you can sell them to gun club buddies for 5% over cost, are over.

Not that I would discredit 410ed for his effort in wanting to make people aware of the realities of the Democrats: McCarthy, Pelosi, et. al., the site itself, looks like BS. (NOT that the links to actual bills like HR 1022 are BS, but the "Hurry and get your home FFL now!" bit certainly is.

Want to make a difference fighting the gun grabbers' plans? Pick up the phone and CALL your legislators, both federal and state level. Don't email. Don't send a letter. CALL.

CALLING is the most important thing you can do. It ties up staff resources and when you get a good calling tree going, you CAN make a difference. Even if your representative or senator is anti-gun or ambivelent toward guns, CALLING let's them know it's a "hot" button issue; and even antigun politicians can cave, table, defer, water down, take the "teeth" out of, etc. antigun legislation.

Emails can be ignored, stored, deleted, or quickly scanned in a program for buzz words and sentence patterns to detect, appropriateness, and what "side" the email appears to be on, then the requisite form letter from the menu list is sent in reply, using a signature machine, and mailed back to the constituent.

    Same with letters.

CALLING ties up the staff on the phones and keeps them from doing their other chores. When the officer manager or, chief of staff, for the senator or representative notices that "X" project wasn't completed because their three staff members and two interns were busy fielding 100 calls that week - - I GUARANTEE that will get attention of the manager and the senator(representative). The thought will be: hmmmmmmm.... we got what??? 136 calls in three days??? Oh, my. Well. Maybe I'd better not vote for HR1234....sounds like it's got a lot of people upset"

THAT is how you defeat gun bills.

CALLING and TESTIFYING at public hearings and getting everyone to do the same.

stevel-ct, extremely good advice. You are right on the money.

Keep spreading the word about phone calls, and keep making them.
