I was offered a BT-99 that was marked on the box flap "Grey Laminate" 34 inch with inv+ tubes.

The price was $950.00 guess condition was 90-92%.

The stock was Laminated, but the metal was a black finish like what you would find on a Remington Express.

How many different finishes were on the metal? Was it only blue and grey nickel? When were they made?

I can find no mention of this model in the blue book.

This gun didn't smell right to me so I passed.

Was I wrong? You think an after market job?

    Please help with info

    Thanks

Those were special makeup guns for Gander Mountain; same dimentions as a normal BT, just laminated stocks and a matt finish. J.Terre

A guy tried to sell me one for a real low price. He had polished the nickle[?] finished receiver and barrel and it looked like it would really pick up glare. I passed on it. I'm wondering if they sold for less when new. Bill

Buster, If you like the grey laminet stock you missed a good deal. It was factory. Bt 99 with invectors in good condition for 950. is a good deal in my opinion.

Correct, the grey laminate with matte finish was a GM special non-catalog item. My son had one, it shot great but the matte finish was not very durable in my opinion. $950 is very fair price.

The grey laminate with nickel receiver/barrel was a Shot Show special a few years back. Nice looking gun.

Yes that was a Gander Mountain special gun. $950 was a deal.
I had a gray laminate nickel gun. It was $1500.

Hey guys thans for the comments.

I was really turned off by the dull black metal.

To be honest the finish was just butt ugly.
