The network had contacted the police department prior to Sunday's broadcast "inquiring if they could use a high capacity magazine for the segment," police spokesman Araz Alali said on Wednesday.

"NBC was informed that possession of a high-capacity magazine was not permissible and their request was denied."

'Slow and Stupid' sounds like the next ATF sponsored illegal movement of 'arms.'

What's to investigate? He was on TV with an extra capacity clip, that looks to be from an AR-15 broadcasting from a studio in Washington D.C.

Does not the local prosecutor have any balls? It shouldn't take a genious to figure that David Gregory is in violation of the local law. The clip is in his possession. If I am not mistaken it is also a felony.

Why does it take lawyers so long to accomplish anything? Can one of the attorneys on here explain that question? Three or four months after the fact, and Gregory's infraction will have been forgotten by the general public ---the prosecutor will slap him with a misdemeanor. All will be swept under the rug and will add ammunition to the liberal fire. Any Bets?

Chuck.......Sometimes it appears that the reason for lengthy investigations is not for evidence to prosecute but to justify the defendants actions. Of course it depends on who the defendant is.

    HMB,
Evidence? Just David Gregory sitting on national television broadcast from Washington D.C. holding a 30 round AR-15 clip in his right hand. If that aint evidence enough of possession, then this is all just a bad dream.

    Read the third paragraph.

I guess if your a journalist and you ask the authorities for permission and if they deny it you can just go ahead and do it anyway.
