I'm using 1 oz claybuster 4100 wads with #8 was wondering how many grains of green dot should be used for the altimate load at 16 yds .I presently use 17.5 grns but feel it's response time is not there should I be using more powder Thanks

Would help to know what hull you are using, primer also. Having said that, you might want to use Red Dot which is a faster burning powder. HMB

In GunClubs, 21.5 grains over a CCI209M with a GreenDuster will put you at or about 1290FPS. That should not feel slow at all.

I love Green Dot for handicap, but it's not a great 16 yd powder in my opinion. Try Claydot, Clays or Red Dot; it seems to me the quicker burning powders are better for singles.

However, it's tough to beat 20 grains of GD behind a 1 1/8 oz load at handicap.
    Just MHO!

I like the GD 1oz. load that I have been shooting lately.
Gun Club hull, 19gr. GD, CB-1100 or TGT clone wad, any primer.

Shoots esp. well at mid-yardage handicap W/7.5 shot.
Seems to shoot exactly like the factory Gun Club shell.

I use Federal Gold Medal plastic hulls, Fed 209A primer, 12SO clone, and 19.0 grains of Green Dot. I do not own a chronograph, so the velocity I am not sure of (probably 1150 to 1200 fps)but this is a very nice load, recoil in my 9 plus pound gun is fine.
