Look out now 2labmaam! That's not fair. I get on here to check to see if I won my usual Lewis runner-up and low and behold I'm getting trashed by one of my own!!! Almost didn't notice your post from admiring the form developed on the Beans & Weenies Team. The Michigan folks are some of the friendliest folks you could hope to run into and the facility makes you feel at home the first time you walk on the grounds. Only wish I could of stayed to shoot more than the first two events, but duty called. Thanks again to all the folks in Michigan that made the Clinic run so smoothly and for the hospitality you showed me. Mark: Will hope to catch up with you at the Central Zone Shoot this weekend. Michael has the State Baseball Tourney so I might only be there on Sunday. Shoot well!
Just wanted to send a quick thanks to you and all of the and all of the others working to make this shoot happen! I was down there from Thursday until today and had a great time and will definitely be back!
I shot my first 100 straight.
Was runner up in C class for the singles class championship. Even with a broken gun during the carry over was still able to shoot above my average,
Finally despite all efforts by Mother Nature today I did not drown! It doesn't get much better then that.
nope -- took it in for some repair work, where the good ol boys in the garage caught it on fire -- I believe this happend 1-2 days before he left...
The kicker -- they called him back after the initial call about the accident happening asking him if he could put the fire accident on HIS INSURANCE...
That must've burned him up real good, since I see he won twice up there so far...
FOGGY... how is the weather? I am confused by the reports -- some say it great, best ever, blah blah and some are saying that it is the mud hole it always is. What gives?
You gonna make the trek to Carmi after schlepping all the way home from Mason?
Foggy; Thanks for the congrats. It was good to see you again.
Mike Berry congrats on 1st 100 str. Great place to get it also. After looking at GLG scores more congrats to Mike as R/U in GLG Handicap. Super job Mike. Congrats to Mikes father Scott for some fine shooting, and a fine young man for a son. Jerry
Thanks for the kind words. Mike and I had a great time at this year's GLG. I believe that I was actually more nervous then Mike during the Handicap shootoff on Monday.
I am an extremely proud father and not only for Mike's excellent shooting, but more importantly, for the way he conducted himself before, during, and after.
I've got to provide the highlights from three hackers (myself included) and a AA shooter, all from Naperville, Illinois, along with our adopted 5th squadmate Keith Uffelman from Joliet.
We shot 4th wave out on the Sunday singles and got moderately wet during the first 100. We were moving from post 1 to 2 on the second trap of the second 100 when the golf ball sized rain drops started coming down. Being the good squad leader that I was, I mentioned to the rest of the squad the all of the other squads on the line were running for the tents, made me think we were at a skeet shoot. Our squad decided we could take whatever mother nature threw at us so we stayed on the line. We all ran the third trap (I'm sure a rare event for a squad with 1 AA shooter, 2 B shooters, and 2 C shooters) and finished the 100 with three 98's, a 97 and a 96. No world records were set, but some of us shot personal bests in spite of the rain.
Three of the guys from Naperville were first-time attendees at the GLG, and I had built it up pretty good. I'm happy to say the MTA lived up to my substantial billing and I'm pretty sure all are planning a return trip.
It was wet (not a mudhole) but the MTA ran a great event as they always do.
I shot with Foggy on Monday's caps, and should apologize for not being more social. I was feeling a little under the weather and just wanted to finish so I could get home (and my score showed it).
I know what you mean I was looking forward to hiting the road also after my Sparkling 89 I was glad to have got the early squad one good thing about shooting bad is that you get to go home a lot quicker.
Foggy
