One of the tips I read on this forum in the last year or so was to add powdered graphite to shot as a way to keep shot from hanging up in the reloader. This tip works great and I got to thinking today while reloading will graphite also improve the shot pattern. Has anyone checked to see if there is any effect on patterns using graphite either good or bad? ken

All shot is coated with graphite when you buy it. In the case of reclaimed or shotmaker shotk a half teaspoon is plenty for 50 lbs.

Using axle grease in your shot so it slides thru the barrel easier, decreases your pattern for some reason.... hahahahaha

It does feed better but I can see no difference in the shot pattern with or without it.
