This Nik Wallenda guy is going to walk the tight rope across the Grand Canyon tonight. He going to make it?

I wasn't interested in it until I was cable surfing last night and came upon a show about him. I guess I'll watch.

Last year I left Niagra Falls the morning he walked across it. They had the roped strecthed and everything was ready to go but I wasn't the least bit interested. Now after watching the cable show about him, I'll watch it on TV tonight. Last year at Niagra they made when wear a teter, tonight they say he will not have one.

The Navajo Nation is apparently allowing him to do it without a tether.

Heck, I don't think it will be that exciting to watch unless he falls like his grandfather did. Now that was some TV that thrilled audiences.

    The Great Karl Wallenda........

    ***WARNING*** He falls

Disclaimer: I by no means hope he falls nor do I think the fact that his grandfather died doing a walk is funny. I do have to question whether or not the family of tightrope walkers have a death wish.

grntitan, your right. If he makes it (hope he does) it will be boring and well if he falls, it will be all over TV news anyway. So I'll probably just see if the Cardinal game is on.

Still you gotta be pretty hard up for money to do a stunt like that. Some up side, but a lot of down side.

I know when I was there, the wind could get pretty gusty at times. Hopefully it doesn't do that while he is up there. That is one hell of a fall.

Like they say, its not the fall that kills ya, its that sudden stop at the end.

The Cardinal game was in rain delay so I decided to watch it. Wow! This clown was described accurately above, coconut sized balls and bb size brain. Man, to get out there on that wire with the wind, etc with no safety backup. Well?

I don't think coconuts are enough to describe the balls needed to walk 1400 ft on a 2 in. wire that is that high.

First of all congratulations Nik for your achievement.

For those that think he's brainless consider that he earned more for that stunt than most of us will make in a lifetime.

Not to mention that he was following a family tradition that was his heritage.

Life is dangerous. Pretty easy to get killed on a construction site i.e. the recent building collapse in Philadelphia.

I too was awed by the height and distance he had to walk with the conditions being what they were. Very impressive and I sure as hell wouldn't do it, but the only thing I found funny was the fact that they had a paramedic down in the canyon. Not sure what he could have done except maybe try to break the fall if it happened...

    Glad it didn't.

If he would of fell they were going to fine him for littering a public park ... Them Indians have found many ways to make money at others expense since the onset of the Casino's, now this ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
