Will there be enough camping spots for everyone wishing to attend, while camping, this year?

That is a question for the ATA. They handle the camping for the Grand American.

I would guess that it would be similar to last year. The camping areas were filled up then which meant all the spots were paid for. Take that as you like, but there were some open spots in the electric only area.

Most campers make their plans well in advance, but with the number of people involved there are inevitably those who can not attend for whatever reason when the time comes. So as August nears, spots open up. Even during last year's Grand folks who requested full hookups were moved from electric only to fill open full service spots.

Like Matt says the ATA would be the official voice on this.

I just sent in my "intent to occupy" my camping spot for the Grand, Scooter. The address was for the Vandalia office. That may mean that Shawna is still in charge of the camping during the transition. You might want to check and see if she's at the old number.

    Good luck.

Barry, Where did you find that? I pulled up the shootata website, WRSC, etc...And saw no info for camping at the Grand.

I saw your post and thought I should do the same thing early.

    Setterman,

Barry already owns a lease to a site. They(camping spot lease holders) have to notify the ATA within a certain amount of time if they are going to be using their spot for a certain shoot. The ATA only handles the camping for the Grand.

If you are interested in a spot, this is from the ATA website:

The 2012 Grand American will take place August 8-18, 2012 - Sparta, IL at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex.

To reserve a camping space please use the Online Camping Form.

Please refer to the Camping FAQ for commonly asked questions.

To learn more about Grand American Camping please contact Heather Henry and/or Shawna Johnson at :
    camping@shootata.com
    or call 937-898-4638 ext 522

    ................................................................

If you bring up the ATA website and go down to the section "Recent News" it is the 11th option down titled "2012 Grand American Camping".
