The shootoff I was told was a short lived one, was shot in 50s instead of 25s
lots of shooters went out early.

Leo missed 199th bird, retreated to trailer to never comeout I was told.

We all miss some Leo, sorry about the wind. Better next time. We all are human and not a machine all the time, I know you gave your damn best as you always do.

My money was riding on you for the Clay Target Championship.

Lots of fairly unknowns finished in the top in shootoff.

Out of it were Campbell, Harrison, Stafford, Mcarthy, Marshall, Kiner, N.Ross, R.Ross, Ohye, Bonillas, Devaugh, Harris, Berlet, and so many other great shooters, new ones are coming up theough the ranks as we get older, which is only normal,

    We cannot dominate forever.

Shot in 50's?, I'll wait to hear from a reliable source on that. How could it go 225 if shot in fifties?

It's awful early in the morning to be drinking that heavy. Time to put the bottle down.

For what its worth, i went home early last night. My oldest son works as a second shift temp groundskeeper at the WSRC. He called me at about 9pm and said Leo was down at the shoot-offs for something. Don't sound like your story is holding much weight.

    Dr. Longshot,

I have no idea who you are nor do I care and I can't believe I am replying to any of your BS. However, I would ask if you have ever been in a shoot off or won anything at the Grand American? I continue to read your comments you post and either laugh at them or feel sorry for you as most all of your comments regarding trapshooting and the individuals you comment on are unfounded to say the least.

Blade, It's all in the Details....for him to of used the term...WE... included Himself in a GROUP Of Shooters..that Surely He is Not Qualified to Be a Member.
Leo has Pages and Pages of Winnings over Decades of Shooting, from the Time he was 15 yrs. old.
You Need to be More than Long Winded to Sit at that Table and or be Part of that Group...Just My Opinion. Shoot Well..Shoot Often, Bart

The shoot offs started both big 16's nite(class and clay target) with everyone who was called to stay out and shoot 2 25's or 50 and then it went by 25's. Not uncommon at large shoots.

Is he even at The Grand?

According to his post, he is telling everything he was told.

    Big Don explained it correctly.

The squads were sent to the line and instructed to shoot 2 rounds of 25 targets (50 targets total) before returning the score sheet to the shoot off office.

This is done to eliminate the constant running back and forth that is necessary if you only shoot one round of 25 and then return the sheet.

With the number of trophies that were available (down to fifth place in class, and third place in category) shooters who did not run the first 25 would have still had to shoot at least another round, in all likelihood. So it is more efficient just to send everybody out to shoot two rounds and then see where you need to go from there.

Roger A Smith I was there that year you was hot at the grand I always wondered if you are still shooting or not.

I did manage to win my A class in the clay target event 8 years later the last time I shot it was with Red Dot Powder but it has been way over 3 years ago.
    Foggy!!
