Wow a high of 5000 shooters in 1999 to 2178 shooters last year 2012. No big purse's this year from the Martins with less trophies being offered. Attendence may drop more if is 100 degree heat index.

I will be there to shoot prelim week. If money and work schedule allowed, I would shoot the whole program! Nowhere nor nothing like it! Martinpicker

Have you paid attention Earl? Attendance everywhere has dropped.........of course you will be there right? You have started several posts concerning the Grand, surely you plan to shoot the whole program?

Since 1999 was the 100th Anniversary, why not wait until 2099 to make a proper comparison. Let me know how it comes out.

The grand will never see 5000 shooters again. Bulk of the trap shooters are in the east. Even at that I don't think it will ever get to that number again. Yes, I am considering going if it not 100 degrees. Not fun to shoot in.

No wonder attendance is down when you have fools like you going around doing nothing but bad mouthing it. Some people may not see your poor attempt at humor and may take it serious so much as to persuade their decision not to attend. Great way to support the sport Earl.

Well thank you grntitan for such a polite name calling. I suggest you educate yourself on proper manners. I would never lower myself to call people names. No class. What I post is only my opnion and everyone has one.

The Grand is the Grand, trap is a outdoor sport. Weather is something we cannot order. Will be there for Championship week. Jake

The 5000 shooters in the GAH in 1999 was an anomaly.

As mentioned above, it was the 100th Anniversary so a lot of people showed up for that. The GAH attendance had been in a downward trend since 1993.

Earl, do you have any positive opinions you'd like to impress upon us?

most all idiots can spout negatives about everything, but, it takes an inspired

person to put forth positive attributes that will attract, not detract, from the

    Grand.

Earl, what are you thinking?? Putting crap like this on TS.com...we all know you and know you must be off your meds. However, it hurts the sport, please STOP! It's not even a little funny any longer!

Dan, Sorry, I could never live in California. I have morals! (and I'd have to find a place for my dogs)

SMSNYDER: Earl grntitan has never been to the Grand when it was in Ohio so he knows nothing as usual.
