The Government Motors dealer signed the contract, then changed their minds a week later when they discovered their mistake, and had the man arrested for not signing a new contract to pay more.

    A Government Motors bigwig apologized, but the arrestee has already unleashed lawsuit hungry lawyers on them.

    I didn't see anything in there suggesting that GM itself was involved in this situation whatever. It was between an auto dealer and a customer- the brand of the vehicle seems to be irrelevent to the story. Could have just as easily been a Toyota dealer.

    More power to him and his lawyers! Maybe if he wins he'll buy a better rig!

    You normally have your approval right away, unless the G.M. was on break for the day and there was no 2nd in command.

    Really? Only $5000 more for a blue one? What a deal. I hope the victim gets a bundle from these assholes.

    As a side note, I tried to buy a new SUV one time from a dealer, and the salesman told me "oh, you can't buy that one, that's our ad car."

    Oz;

    Why shouldn't the dealer make money? That's what business is all about!

    If the contract was signed and now the dealer also admits the mistake, I would not only sue them but the police department and officers that arrested me...

    They need to check both sides of the story before arresting someone...

    As Gomer Pyle would say "Oh, they're going straiht to hell for this one..." Or at least to the poor farm...

    :)

    Seems to me that there has to be more to this story. If not, there are going to be many a$$'s hanging on the hooks.

    I'm sure thinking on Looking at Toyota the next time. I have only dealt with 2 GM dealerships in my life. One was very unethical. I can just imagine how they are now that the government is involved .
