    "Good Morning, New America"
As America wakes this morning, a new path has been laid. The American people have made the decision to begin a new era in this great nation. America has spoken strongly, and the American people are seldom wrong. Our next president will be thrown immediately into a storm, with very few bearings to navigate out of the termoil. The economy is in shambles, and the nation remains divided. America’s standing in the world, too, has diminished. Rising energy prices, and health care, affect every American on a daily basis. Have faith in your new president, as he has faith in you. Have faith in the country, for it gives all it has to you. Have faith in the American people, for we are all one great nation. Have faith in yourself, for your decision has changed American history forever. Give what you can to your country, as a great man once said “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” The political tide is changing, and so follows the country. Lend your ears, but do not follow blindly to our new leadership, for it is the government who should fear the people. Become not a Democrat or a Republican, but become an American behind a single cause; the country itself. Though we have selected an instrumental figure in our country, the main responsibility still lies with the American people to step up to the plate, get their hands dirty, and make this nation greater than ever. There is undoubtedly fog on our path ahead, but should you take the hand of your neighbor, and country, it will not be long before the fog lifts.

    -Shane, one damn proud American.

    Gee, that didn't take long.

"A just security to property is not afforded by that government, under which unequal taxes oppress one species of property and reward another species."

James Madison, Essay on Property, March 29, 1792

"But the mild voice of reason, pleading the cause of an enlarged and permanent interest, is but too often drowned, before public bodies as well as individuals, by the clamors of an impatient avidity for immediate and immoderate gain."

    James Madison - Federalist No. 42, January 22, 1788

"Society in every state is a blessing, but government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one; for when we suffer or are exposed to the same miseries by a government, which we might expect in a country without government, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer."

Thomas Paine - Common Sense, 1776

Curvy, You are right again. Freedom gives even those we disagree with the right to say what ever they believe in public. To put forth new ideas or old ones recycled. That very aggressive demand of freedom that created America, and is part of being in America, is the very thing that allows people to burn the flag. Can't do that in most countries.

Social change, freedom and democracy in action. It must be more good than evil I think.

jakearoo...then why did Obama try to implement a Truth Squad in Missouri during the campaign? That's not freedom, and is sure isn't democracy.

Shane...Trapp12, or whatever the kids call you...that speech was probably written by Karl Rove doing a little free lance work on the side. Fools like you believe he wrote it. Check back in at 2012 and hopefully by then you'll have a job, pay taxes, and see if your love affair with the Kenyan is still burning. Just don't cover over your Brittany poster with your obammy poster of him wearing a turban.

And check out the "Freedom Doctrine" that Pelosi and her crew are going to try to reimplement. Then come back and tell me that the First Amendment isn't in danger, along with the Second.

Anyone that listened to Obama's acceptance speech should have picked up on the fact that this man is on a "Mission" and it just may be "Ordained" and that he obviously sees himself as a "Prophet"....

On "Point" the speech was brilliant and inspiring but it leaves me wondering where, and with who, is this guy really going...

    regards

Trappy-------those with a usable brain made the choices we as a nation had to make and the result of our choices was the election of a new man. I think John McCains speech on his concession was a truely gracious and heart warming speech. Had he been making those kinds of speeches on the campaign trail instead of the republican negative "bs" that his party puts out I think he would have won the election. We as a nation now have to try to fix the purse that is if we can wrest it away from the money changers who are trying their damnest to destroy this country. Dan

    Truth is...

the Republican clowns were not able to field a worthy candidate...

    so......

the Democrat clowns won with a messianic type...

America works in spite of itself...but barely.
