URGENT ALERT – CHICAGO MACHINE IS COMING FOR YOUR GUNS

On Tuesday, January 24th, the Chicago gun grabbers launched a surprise attack on your gun rights by moving two pieces of extremist anti-gun legislation out of committee and on to the House floor for consideration.

The first bill is HB1294. This bill would require the ban and forced confiscation of every semiautomatic firearm you own.

The second bill is HB1599. If passed, this bill would increase jail time for owners of any guns banned by HB1294.

THE MACHINE PLAN IS CLEAR – THEY WANT TO MAKE IT A FELONY FOR YOU TO EXERCISE YOUR 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS!

These two bills are not just random attacks on your rights! They have been carefully drafted and coordinated by some of the Chicago Machine’s most ardent gun grabbers to include: Rep. Edward Acevedo; Rep. Ann Williams; Rep. Greg Harris; Rep. Barbara Flynn Currie; Rep. Karen May; Rep. Carol Sente; Rep. Deborah Mell (Blago’s sister-in-law); and Rep. Marlow Colvin.

IF THESE BILLS PASS, YOU WILL HAVE 90 DAYS TO SURRENDER YOUR GUNS TO THE POLICE OR THE POLICE WILL BE COMING TO YOUR DOOR TO TAKE YOUR GUNS TO THE FURNACE, AND YOU TO THE PENITENTIARY.

This is the beginning of what could be a very bad year for law-abiding Illinois gun owners. The Chicago Machine does not care about the 2nd Amendment and is dead set on taking your guns away from you. They are not patriots; they are not lovers of freedom; they are not Americans. These people have no respect for our Constitution or the ideals of liberty and self determination envisioned by the Founding Fathers. They know that private firearm ownership is the bedrock of liberty and, if they can take your guns away from you, then they will be able to condemn you and your family to a life of servitude – groveling before the Machine for life’s necessities.

DO NOT LET THE CHICAGO MACHINE BEAT YOU DOWN LIKE A DOG!

HERE ARE THE THINGS THAT YOU MUST DO TO HELP PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS:

    1. Use the link below to identify your State Representative and politely advise your Representative that you oppose HB1294 and HB1599 and that you expect them to vote against those bills if they come to the House floor for a vote.

Illinois Board of Elections District Official/Search:
    http://www.elections.state.il.us/DistrictLocator/DistrictOfficialSearchByAddress.aspx

    2. Pass this Alert along to all your friends and family and urge them to contact their Representatives as well.

    3. Post this alert to any and all Internet blogs or bulletin boards to which you belong.

    4. Please follow the directions below and make a generous donation to the ISRA so that we may continue the fight in Springfield to preserve and protect your rights. The suggested minimum donation for protecting freedom is $20.

REMEMBER: PRESERVING AND PROTECTING THE 2ND AMENDMENT IS A MORAL AND CULTURAL IMPERATIVE – WITHOUT THE FREE EXERCISE OF THE 2ND AMENDMENT, THERE WILL BE NO MORE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

You folks in Illinois have to "fight-for-your-life" to attempt to retain a RIGHT granted by the U.S. Constitution. Absolutely pathetic.
There's an election coming....Be sure to thank all your UNION BUDDIES for bringing these left-wing loons to your legislature. You gotta know the sponsors of this P.O.S. law get high grades from the BIG LABOR BOSSES.
If Americans with common sense keep arguing over petty crap, we'll keep getting more Democrat lunacy forced down our throat.

For those who don't live in Illinois . . . this is a rite that takes place at the beginning of each legislative session. The anti-gunners put up a bunch of anti-guns bills, and the pro-gunners put up a bunch of pro-gun bills.

It's unlikely that it will pass. At the end of the last legislative session concealed carry came within a couple of votes of passing with a large enough majority to override a veto by the gov. There is a lot of support for pro-gun causes, just not enough to get the big majority to override any vetos.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't be concerned and continue to lobby our legislators. But realistically, you could talk to the anti-gun Chicago legislators all day long and make the world's best argument for a pro-gun cause and it wouldn't change their vote.

I'll also opine that the ISRA takes advantage of these bills to further their fundraising. Not saying it's a bad thing, just saying that you have to be aware of what is going on and form an opinion based on all the facts, not just an email from one source.

    Thanks Scott,

Political rhetoric is what it is called. Usually behind 99% of the political stories or articles, blogs, etc., out there.

Instead of posting your opinion, post the bill or information. That way you know the source and can interpret the information ourselves.

That would be interesting if it was as such explained. The grounds in Sparta would have to be moved yet again.

Remind me why in its infinite wisdom did the EC of the ATA decide to move to Illinois. Unless they were to get an exemption for trapshooting for a 100 years it seems to me that a move could be in the future due to the politics of the state.

The fact of the matter is, if it ever made it to the highest level, which is the Federal Supreme Court, which it would, it would be overruled. The Federal Constitution overrides any state laws. State laws do not overrule Federal laws, our Constitution. Most if not all those state laws prohibit use of parts of guns, not the guns themselves. In this case it bans certain guns, of which would be to wide of scope, which would be against our second amendment right. It would be challenged all the way to the Federal level.

You would think so but that's not the way in NJ. Many guns even antique .22's have ben outlawed. We even have a magazine capacity law that prohibits the sale of many of the newer pistols.

There may be a chalange but even the NRA has walked away from NJ

    Joe,

The problem is they banned the capacity, not the guns. Those guns that were not manufactured with lower capacity just got caught up in the law.

When you say outlawed, what does that mean exactly? Does that mean you can't posses, sell, or shoot those?

What is your capacity law? I imagine that a .22 with a tubular magazine may be part of that ban, if it holds more than the law allows. Jon

As usual, read Scott Calhouns's post for the facts. The claims in the OP are designed to get everyone fired up, but they are not necessarily accurate. The WSC at Sparta and the Grand will not be impacted at all, even if this proposal ever saw the light of day.

This stuff comes up all the time it seems, and never goes anywhere. With a quick glance, it looks pretty similar to any of the so-called "assault weapons" bans we are stuck with already in some states. Unfortunate, but true. Keep lobbying against this stuff, but don't try to tell people the Grand is in trouble again.

Once they start putting restrictions on guns or any part of them, thats only the first step toward putting restritions on the gun itself ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

so what do you think is going to happen? They are going to come and get them? or we going to turn them in? neither scenario plays out well. Heck Blago even had a gun in Chicago when they arrested him.

Just do what the dems do. Try to get a few hundred PRO gunner activists to move to Illinois or at least have addresses and create a big hullabalooo. Get lots of support. Set up a network and when all goes their way have the activists move on to the next problem state. That's all. Works for the dems every time, you know, the organizing.
