Good food can make or break a gun club. Some clubs have signature dishes and great chuckwagons.

If you have stories or pictures of these culinary delights, please post.

If you don't have anything constuctive to add to this post, beware:)

You would be hard pressed to top Janet Kassman's home cooking' at Downers Grove Sportsmens Club in Morris, Il. The best breakfast and lunch you ever ate, all made fresh right in front of you including breakfast potato's, meat loaf, fresh baked ham and pies made right in the club kitchen just to name a few. I can't wait till 5/4 for our 1st shoot. Harv.

These are Ohio boys that run this stand. I don't think they enjoy success in sparta . We still eat there. In years gone by, Christie's in Vandalia was the place to go. Best pizza's and many others foods as well.

Now granted I have only been to about half a dozen clubs or so. But 2 date the best food I have gotten at any club would be the CCC Miami chain shoot. They now have to cook 2 pigs up for the last 2 shoots. They used to only do one. They cook it in a wooden box with a inside metal liner or in a ground pit sometimes. You get to smell it most of the day while you shoot. I can only wonder how they are going to top it at next years shoot, at the end of January for their 100th anniversary( I think). Can't wait. Got go, I'm drowling on my keyboard. Break-em all. Jeff

Auchterhouse Country Sports just outside of Dundee Scotland. Full up restaurant. Nick Nairn cooked there during the last Prince's Trust fund raiser shoot.

    Cheers

There is no comparison to Bay City Gun Club. We are talking roast turkey, roast beef, pork with all the fixin's. It's all homemade. You can eat all day or until your eyes swell shut!! And it's all free to registered shooters!!
Home made cakes & pies to top it all off. A little lady named Barb makes sure all the shooters are smiling when they are there. If she could just keep the wind from Lake Erie from showing up. From breakfast to dinner time, she is always feeding someone. Butch from Pgh

Tri Angle in Bluefield VA is great. Several wives fix an elaborate buffet for each shoot. Around 20 dishes to choose from and its all free.

But, the best food at a gun club is no longer available. Many things have been said about Earl Scripture, but all agree that he could cook as well as he could shoot.

L'Acadie and Montreal Skeet in Quebec.

Both offer breakfast and lunch dishes whenever they are open.

Montreal has the edge in pasta dishes.

I would have to agree with Butch,Barb Muffie at Bay City Gun Club cooks up some great home made meals.Personally I love her"Better Than Sex"cake.Food is free to all shooters.Bay City will hold their first shoot of the year April 26.
    Thanks Barb!
