Brownells, someone else will have to chime in on how good it works. I have a gun I would like to do but I cant afford to have butchered.

I've used the Brownells kit its called Bonanza Gold, a solvent, some "gold dust" (brass) and glue. works easily and looks just like the factory filled of my older 1100's. If you don't like it it can be removed easily before it dries, not sure after. I did an 870 and a sportsman 58 and they both turned out nice.

I Know a buddy that used the brownells kit on his gold cup that was almost three years ago its looks really well done and seems to hold up pretty good. He keeps a good coat of oil on the gun all the time and it doesnt seem to affect it. Kirk

Go to an art store in your area and get a tube of Gold Rub & Buff. It's in a small tube. Rub it into the design and let it dry about 20 minutes then with a piece of cloth dampened with mineral spirts over a Pink Peral eraser wipe over the design to clean off the excess. Works very well. Cost about $2.00

The gold rub is good . Also check at the paint store [real one like S&W] they sell a little bottle that is mixed in a clear enamel for picture frames. Clean the engraving with acatone and put a very small amount of the gold on the engraving and wipe it in with a piece of rubber like a old wiper blade. That will leave enough in the engraving. get rest off of gun and let it dry over night . Take a paper towel and damp lightly with the acatone and rub over the area to remove any enamel that is on surface. let dry and oil. I have 5 guns that have been on there for 20 years

The Bonaza Gold is simple to use and lasts forever ... I have a snub nose .38 spcl. that it has been on for over 10 years and it looks like the day I did it ... Its actually made for this type of thing ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I had a colt .45 auto commemorative with gold engraving all over it. The gun was fired only a few times, lightly wiped down and left in it's box for years--the gold is GONE.Why is a mystery to me,but I have a couple shotguns I put the bonanza gold on 30 yrs ago and it's still on there and looks better than the real thing in my opinion.
