Just reminding you guys/gals to get gas this morning. They are predicting gas prices to rise as much as 30-40 cents/gallon over the next few days or so and could stay that way for a month or more. This is all due to "Irene".

The gas station is tied in to a grocery store. The more you spend on food the bigger discount you get. 10 cents for every $50 spent. Bulge.

No change in my area I buy diesel at #3.79 and that's what the price was 1/2 hour ago. Went past 3 stations and the price is the same as a few days ago. $3.47 to $3.51 for gas and we are right in the path of the storm with 3 refineries 50 miles away down on the Delaware river.

$3.54/gallon here in Sparta. I filled the truck and car and my (2) Jerry Cans. $116 worth of gas. Geezz Felt like i was fueling my semi. I figure we'll use it anyway. May as well get it before they start gouging us. I still don't understand why a hurricane jacks gas prices up 30-40 cents/gallon anyway.

Guys these "artificial panics" where people start hoarding gas is partly why the prices go through the roof!

Its so uninformed people won't scream "price gouging"

The news media is complaisant in pushing the agenda of oil company's marketing tactics!

If there is a way to blame anything for the cause, its justifiable to raise the price overnite!!

Get rid of the EPA and go back to just 2 grades of gasoline instead of the 56 blends that the EPA has required! Is were we need to start.

The gas lines in NJ have got to be unbelievable. Because you can't pump your own in NJ.

Seems as though gas prices always go up for any excuse they can think of. I'm surprised they haven't tried to blame the current unrest in Libya even though we get practically NO oil from them in the first place.

Stubbed my toe out in the back yard yesterday... look for gas to go up another 10 cents a gallon real quick.

Filled up this afternoon at $3.45/gal (87 Octane) when I pulled into the station. By the time I left, 15 gallons later, the price had gone up to $3.59/gal. They changed the signs and the pump price WHILE I was filling up!

All this because of the possibility(some say likelihood) of refineries shutting down due to the possible Hurricane that may or may not hit there. Fair enough.

However, in the article I read it was stated that the refineries that may or may not shut down provide 7% of ALL the gasoline in the US. Is a 7% decrease in refined gas enough to raise prices over 10 cents in one or two days? Apparently!

timberfaller has it dead on. It's nothing more than gouging.
