Does anyone where I can find information on a Deutsche Wallenfabrik shotgun?

A friend of mine came across it and needs some more information.

    Thanks

It's probably Deutsche WaFFenfabrik ... (Waffenfabrik means, literally, 'gunmaker') founded originally in Karlsruhe in 1872, then to Berlin as Deutsche Waffen-und Munuitionsfabrik, known as DWM.

DWM was a widely-spread war-goods manufactory, rather than sporting-gun makers, per se, although several known gunmakers made and sold sporting pieces under their aegis, their 1898 Mausers made their name & fame. They (were) dissolved and devolved in 1922 into Berlin-Karlsruhe Industriewerk and got out of the war-business.

Whatever he has, unless it is clearly a military arm, was pre-WW1, anyhow.

Good pics, including of the proofmarks and other marks on the barrel flats, water table and barrels is the place to start. The German Gun board on SGW is pretty good abt a better history, gunmaker's names who were part of the co-op, etc.

The marks will tell the tale.
