One thing I didn't notice in the referenced pages was that Ga is a open carry state. It does make a lot of people nervous though. Open carry does have the same restrictions as CCw such as government offices churches etc. It is very simple to get a concealed carry license. In my county it is $60.00 for a five year license. Open carry makes people nervous??
New Hampshire is an open carry state, the only nervous people here are cops! By the way, I have yet to actually SEE anyone open carry....why would you want to tip yourself off to the bad guys

Frank, until recently I helped manage a sporting goods/hardware store that sold fish bait. A lot of time folks walking the streams would have their gun on their hip when coming in for bait or tackle. It made the cashiers nervous as well as the local police unless they knew the individual. All the employees knew that I had a concealed carry so that helped some. LOL Jackie B.

When watching video footage of armed hold-ups on TV, I haven't noticed any crooks carrying their gun in a side holster, in the open, either?

Georgia CCW goes thru the county vs. State. The county runs a check thru GBI then that's it after you get finger printed. Just about everyone around me carries in the car/truck.

There are a number of shooting facilities scattered around in Georgia. For me it's 40 miles to the closest facility that has skeet and wobble trap. Depending on where you are looking at there are quite a few facilities close to or in the edge of Florida around Jacksonville. The biggest is in Savannah named Forrest city gun club. It is a very nice and friendly place and they have trap, skeet and sporting clays. Pm me the area your looking at moving to and I'll try to let you know what facilities are close by. I've shot at most of them from Atlanta south and have enjoyed them all. Jackie B.

There will be approximately five ranges within forty miles of Jacksonville. I live 70 miles north of Jacksonville in a little town named Blackshear. If you are in or associated with the military there is another range at NAS Jacksonville and you can purchase reloading components there is needed. If I can help in any way give me a call at 912xx282xx7150. I am retired(recently) so call anytime. Jackie B.

Another thing that I forgot about the concealed carry. You do not have to qualify with any gun and are not held to any gun to use for concealed carry. You can change guns every day if you want. Jackie B.

Georgia DOES NOT allow open carry unless you have paid your $75 fee to get a Weapons Carry License.
