Was it Digweed or AJ ( Smoker) Smith that blew part of one of his hands off with a shotgun? Jeff

When Digweed became famous he was toting a pair of Berettas. Then Kemen and now Perazzi.

I believe cactus may be closer to the truth. I heard it was a "pyrotechnics" accident, guess that would be about right.

I read an article about Digweed doing an exhibition after a shoot. He asked 15 people in the crowd to give him a shell. The shells were all different speeds and weights. With those shells he shot 15 crossers at over 50 yards and broke them all. I'd say he's an OK shot.

    P3AT,

    Great read.

I watched Mr. Kruger shoot at a event a few years back and was amazed at his concentration level while shooting. It was a truely amazing thing to watch.

O.K. FITASC is one of the premier events in sporting clays, and attracts the very best shooters. The U.S. National Sporting Clays championship is being held in San Antonio as we speak. Last year it attracted over 1400 shooters. The FITASC event with several hundred of the country's best shooters was shot on Thursday.

    The winner was Jon Kruger.

He didn't just win. His 96 beat the second place finisher by 8 targets!

    Yes 8.

I kept going back and checking the scores because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. A 96 and about 300 scores of 88 and lower.

"Still one heck of a shooter" Jack mc said. I'd say so.

George does shoot a Perazzi MX2000 but it is not fitted with an adjustable comb. He prefers 32" for clays and 34" for game.

His Sporting average was just under 93% out of 1260 registered targets; he probably shoots 10 times that amount at non registered events.

A few months ago there was a picture of George Digweed on the cover of Sporting Clays Magazine. His hands are HUGE! He was shooting a O/U and his hands made it look like a youth model shotgun.

About 4 or 5 years ago I shot at big sporting clays shoot at Desert Lake just out of Las Vegas. On Sunday there was a wind storm, it was blowing the porta potties over. The targets were being blown all over the place, no two pairs were the same. Some targets were landing 40 to 50 yards in a different direction than the previous pair. Jon Kruger broke a 94. A 94 in that wind was unreal!

A couple of years ago I ran into Kruger at a small trapshoot in Caldwell, Idaho. He was passing through and decided to shoot the handicap event. I knew who he was and asked him why he didn't shoot more trap and he told me that he flinched too much to shoot trap. I thought "right". We were squadded together and he shot just before me. I watched him shoot a 99 and he WAS NOT LYING! ha. He flinched so bad on three or four targets that I thought he might fall over. He broke each of those "flinching shots" taking the target about 5 feet off the ground. He is a very very good shot to be sure. He also seemed like a decent guy.
