There were some threads out here some time ago about clubs having issues with Garrison Green picking up the hull they had saved. Has that condition changed? Are there clubs who are having success with this program? WHen I was in Florida in March the Silver Dollar had numerous skids to be picked up. Have they picked up those hulls?

"If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is"

When this started Garrison Green was on here with a post about every hour. Now not a word out of them with any kind of explanation or reason.

If they can not take care of the big clubs what about the little two or three trap clubs?

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM well sounds to me as they either cant make a buck off the hulls like they thought, or perhaps they just cant keep up.

My bet is they are not makeing any money as they thought. if they are and cant keep up I see another company forming.

The Minneapolis Gun Club is on the Garrison Green program. We throw approx. 1.3 million targets a year and have a few hulls to get rid of. We had 8-10 bags sitting there and the White Flyer truck picked them up when they delivered targets yesterday. With that, we'll order more bags from Garrison until they quit picking them up.

At this point, I could care less about the gun racks or anything else. I just would like to know if any of the clubs who are accumulating hulls are getting them picked up? One step at at time will be fine with me.

I mentioned on another threat that the San Antonio Gun Club had targets delivered about 10 days ago and they did not pick up the Hulls. I was told they asked to delay pickup to an annual schedule. Ron

I am Mac McCreless and I am located in Denver, CO. I am the
counterpart to Andrew Fishbone who is in Franklin, TN ? both of us
formed Garrison Green because we realized the need to handle a product
(shotgun shells) that were needlessly being disposed of. We started
this project in Mid 2011 and are just now approaching a full year
since the inception of the idea.

We have a processing facility in Denver, CO and finishing up one in
    Franklin, TN.

The program has been a HUGE SUCCESS when it comes to the involvement
in the clubs. I have said many times I am shocked by how many clubs
have supported the idea and helped us out.

The program hit a snag because of the shear volume it produced so
quickly. We ran out of bulk bags quickly after sending out our first
1,500 and we had to order more very quickly.

White Flyer has BEEN GREAT on helping us pick up shells along their
routes and clubs they service directly, but they do not service every
location. We then have to arrange for freight privately. We have been
communicating with other distributors about their possible involvement
in helping with the collection and consolidation of the bags. We are
making improvements to help reduce lead times, but it is a process.

The goal of Garrison Green was to develop a recycling system for
material that has been thrown away in the past. The goal has been
proven but it is still being refined. We intended to take the
cardboard bird boxes, but unfortunately there was so much of it that
we simply could not handle it all. Along with the contamination, and
the cost of freight, it would not make it feasible and the program
would have to be shut down. This would have led to 1 thing ? everyone
would be back to throwing away their shells.

The question of profit has come up on the forum boards. The simple
answer is yes, there is a profit involved. Just like I am sure there
is profit involved in all the clubs we shoot at, there is profit
involved in the ammo we all buy, profit in the targets, profit in the
    ear plugs, etc.

Pickup of bags ? we are so very sorry for the delays. With summer upon
us, we have made it a goal to call through ever participating club
every 2 weeks and check on their full bags and if they need empty
    bags. 300 clubs thus far!

    Call for Help!!!

Do you own a trucking company? Do you have a warehouse in the
Northwest and Northeast? We would be very interested in talking to you
about logistics and consolidation. Please contact us.

Garrison Green is going to succeed and it will allow for all shotgun
look at anyone whoever calls into question a gun shooting individuals
commitment to the environment. If not, then everything returns to
business as normal , shells are thrown away and we move on.

If you need more bags, if you need bags to be picked up, or if you
have any questions ? please contact us.

Mac, thanks for posting a response on here. Our club just signed up for your services and have already filled two bags up. I was getting concerned that we were going to get stuck with a pile of hulls. We have just ordered another 15 bags as the California state shoot is coming in June.

I am happy to say that Garrison Green came through for us in finding a carrier to pick up the 10 bags of hulls and cardboard that we had. Our club has no fork lift so it means having a trucker come to our club that has a hydraulic lift gate on the truck as well as bringing 1 or 2 pallet jacks. Today May 10 a UPS Freight truck arrived with all the mentioned equipment and the driver plus several of our members got all of the bags loaded onto the truck. We had 6 bags of cardboard and 4 bags of plastic shotgun hulls and empty shell boxes. As per the letter that Garrison sent out they will no longer accept the cardboard but will take the plastic hulls.

i still don't get it: if 30 aluminum cans are only worth 50 cents at my local recycling center, what are 3 tons of worthless hulls worth after you've shipped them 500 miles via ups freight?

Mike, yes you can leave your filled bags at the Knox, Indiana plant when you go to pickup your birds. For the folks that are wondering why we stopped taking the bird boxes, it is because we asked the clubs to compress and break down the boxes flat to maximize the space in the bags. We found that many clubs did not follow instructions as advised, and in fact only put about 15 boxes per bag. We cannot afford to haul the bags 200 miles when they only have 15 boxes in them.
