    There are two things wrong with this cover montage. Can you spot them?

    I count 14 stripes with the little sliver in the lower LH corner, but that might just be the trim.

    The original distributor was UA, not MGM.

    And from what I can tell, Sinatra was left handed...

    Either way, the film came out 23 years before I did LOL

    The flag is a 50 star version. The date of the movie was early to mid 1950's, before Alaska and Hawaii became states. Therefore the flag should have 48 stars. The 48 star flar had the stars in straight horizontal and vertical rows. The 50 star flag has staggered rows.

    The gun appears to be a Walther PPK. But in the movie when he shoots another soldier (note he's in uniform) he was holding a Walther P-38. The hand and gun are actually not his, an artist added them in.

    I dunno about the strips. I assumed they were the correct 13, but the sliver in the lower left corner as pointed out may or may not be part of the flag.

    i think there's also a bond or bourne movie that depicts a gun on the cover that isn't in the movie. i can't recall what it is, but i'm sure one of you can
