The Grand American program (pg. 11) says: "3) Handicap target requirements will be waived for Senior Veterans, making them eligible for trophies and monies." Clear enough...so if you are a Sr. Vet. currently on the 23 yd. line with only 700 targets so far this year, you will not be penalized to the 25. But the next sentence appears to confuse the point: "They may declare 25 yards to assure their eligibility for all events." What does this mean? Are Sr. Vets. with fewer than 1,000 targets ineligible for some events or to play options in some events? Comments appreciated. Best Regards, Ed

As Ben Stein asked in "Ferris Bueller": Anyone? Anyone? Maybe no one knows the answer. Regards, Ed

It also says it 3 paragraphs above and it doesn't make any sense either.

Don, Thanks for pointing out this additional confusing info. I called ATA HQ twice yesterday, but the lady to answer the question was not available. Will post something here if/when I get a clarification. Best Regards, Ed

Talked to ATA HQ; apparently, the second sentence in 3) is focused only on Sr. Vets with fewer than 1,000 targets who shoot from less than 25 yards qualifying for the $100K handicap event. For example, if a Sr. Vet shooting at less than the 25 yd. line with less than 1,000 registered targets wins a handicap event making him/her eligible for the $100K shoot-off, he/she will have to fill out a form outlining his/her qualifications in order to be in the $100K shoot-off. Guess that is in there for those who might show up as Sr. Vets having shot zero (no) registered targets and getting to qualify to shoot for the $100K. That said, Sr. Vets can receive trophies, play all options, etc., except for the special $100K event if they have fewer than 1,000 targets. If you see any flocks of flying pigs, you'll know that I won some handicap event. Best Regards, Ed
