Just got back from walking the dog. The moon, wow it was full and bright! You could clearly see the Sea of Tranquility. It got me to thinking about the moon landing. 1969 - 41 years ago. It also got me to thinking about the space program and what it took to get there. JFK announced the decision to go on 5/25/1961 to put a man on the moon and returned him safely by the end of the decade. Think about that. We hadn’t even made an orbit of the earth yet. Alan Shepard was the first American in space and that was 5/5/1961. John Glenn didn't orbit the earth until 1962. A little over 8 years after JFK made the decision to go, they landed on the moon and returned. Most of the engineering done on a slide rule. Wow!

Now fast forward to present day - 2010. Nine years after 911 and there is still a hole in the ground in lower Manhattan. WTH happened to this country??

Liberal political correctness and a general sinister plot to undermine and ultimately destroy this country as we know it... That is what has happened to this country...

I too came back from a 20 minute walk, the moon is beautiful, and Jupiter is just SE of it. I think today is the "Moon festival" in lunar calendar, the moon "supposedly" be the brightest in the year.

Think about it; We have more computing power in our cell phones than all the Apollo flights combined. Those guys were very smart and brave.

The full moon tonight is the day of the Moon Festival. It is the
    Asian version of Valentine's day.
