Super full chokes are generally for turkey hunting. These choke generally have very heavy walls, made possible because they extend past the muzzle. The constriction is tighter than a full choke. Generally most makers have an extra full turkey choke, then a super full turkey choke.

Since I'm familiar with Rem chokes, I'll use these as an example:

    Full choke has .036" constriction.

    Turkey extra full .040"

    Turkey super full .062"

    "Ventillator" (lead only) .072"

I've found that unless you are using hard shot and buffered loads, the super full will blow patterns. The extra full choke can blow patterns with soft pellets, but seems to generally work well with premium shot. This makes it a possibility for quality trap loads. Based on what I've seen, without buffered shot, I don't think the super full is a good pick for trap loads.

Since each gun is unique unto itself, your mileage may vary.
