    Selling a very nice 12 gauge Remington 31tc trap gun with 30" fixed full choke step-rib barrel. This is the small trigger guard (type 34, all steel guard and receiver) built in the mid to late 30's. Serial numbers on receiver and barrel match. Wood and metal are in excellent plus condition. Barrel has a nice shiny bore with white front bead and silver middle bead. Rib is integral with the barrel. Bore measures about .738 and choke is .697 for .39 constriction. The metal finish looks like an old reblue that was very well done. My guess is the wood was professionally refinished somewhere along the line. The gun functions perfectly and is in excellent mechanical condition. Sales price is $995.00 plus shipping to your FFL or C&R licensee. View photo's at website above. If interested contact me at:

    Sold++++
    Thanks,

    Phil

    Nice gun but I'll bet you will be hard pressed to get $650.00 for it.

    The Remington 31 barrels marked "Long Range" were overbored according to some of the writers of the time. It is possible that some of the trap barrels were as well.

    i have miked several R31 TC's and all were of the order of .740. Was told by a shooter that started in the 40's as a kid that Remington bored the 31 tc on a Parker boring machine. they grind targets. D Winter

    I've had 3 M-31TC's, still have one, and they all mic'ed around .740.

    Skybuster, I doubt you'll touch one as nice as this for anywhere near $650.

    My first 12 gauge was a model 31 without the C. Stock has been cut off many times to fit youth trap shooters. It can still kill them DEAD. Omaha

    I paid 995.00 for mine and was happy to get it as it has a release trigger and they are hard to find. The 31 TC is a wonderful gun equal to a model 12 and they were shot by a lot of top shooters in the old days. They stopped making them in 1949 when the 870 was released as the 31 was to costly to make, Dan Orlich shot one until Al Ljutic gave him the first Ljutic #1. There are very few of these guns made as the were only made from 1931-1949 so are not like Model 12's in numbers.

    Who will build a release trigger for a 31?

    FLAKETM, good luck. I tried for some time to get a release maker to make one for me, but Spears, Timney and one other (I forget who) nixed it saying they were a liability problem because one couldn't make them cancel safely. I finally bought a 3rd TC with a release in it, put a pull in that gun, sold it and kept the release.
