1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.
  2. Attention: We have put together a thread with tips and a tutorial video to help with using the new software. Please take a moment to check out the thread here: Trapshooters.com Tutorial & Help Video.

What rib? Looks like it might be the straight 12mm.

Ian, they're mostly all 12MM straight, a great rib, rare in this country except for the Tula barrel. I still want the serial number.

No tula chokes arent mainly all 12MM ribs- in fact they are rarely 12 MM ribs

Not sure where that misinformation came from

I have two sitting here right now- both 8-7 MM ribs

I remember that we used "Federal Special Target loads" (T122) for tula choked barrels. Without the availability of shells without plastic wads(shotcup) what results can you expect from tula choked barrels without these special shells.

I've still got a box of Federal T-123 skeet loads. 3.5 dram, 1 1/8 oz of #10 shot! I got them at FtBenning GA during the Gulf Coast Champs in 1977. Only shells used by the USAMU when Phil Provence was the coach. Recoil was brutal, but you can't believe how they destroyed a target!!

I think if you shoot the tula choke barrels with todays shells you will still see a better and wider spread

Try it and see- compare with just a skeet choke

Now with the fiber wads and smaller shot- like 10s you really saw a cloud

Bottom line- I think the Tula choke barrels are better barrels for 12 gauge skeet than regular skeet chokes-

Like Gene said, just use regular skeet loads, either Winchester 2 3/4 9's or Remingtons 2 3/4 dram 9's. I used a tula choke for about 10 years, and were great chokes. Only problem I would have to clean the choke every 200 rounds from carbon and plastic build-up.

i agree with gene as well i shoot a set of 26 inch tula's, with 1oz loads they smack the targets really well but with 7/8 oz pushing 1350 fps there is nothing but dust left..... so long as you don't miss. my rib is 12ml have never seen an 8ml rib in about 40 sets i have seen in australia maybe thats all we were sent? cheers des

Those of us who were around the International Skeet world only saw 12MM ribs, probably why only 12MM were seen in Australia. The "International Skeet" model Krieghoffs were Tula guns with 12MM ribs.

My K80 International Skeet Gun, with the tula choked barrel from the 80's had the 12mm rib! Man did the Federal T123's kick and smoke targets. It was great when they brought out the Federal T122 shell. It had much less recoil and still smoked those International Skeet targets.... sure wish they still made them!
