1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For sale is a K80 - 32" light weight Standard rib barrels. These are off an 07 gun. They have the 10X6 rib and the lighter weight. Looks like they have just been put on and taken off a gun- a few times (no scratches or marks).

Price is $2777.77 shipped to you ground (No Chokes are included).

Regards from Iowa -- email is gnbug@prodigy.net

Gene, how are the barrels lighter? Are they back bored, or thin walled? They are factory screw choked? Larry

I dont know exactly the percentage of why they are lighter- I know they are lighter= I think 5 onces- 6 onces depending on barrel length

The rib is thinner- rather than 12-8 it is 10-5 but I think they also made the walls slightly thinner also -- not sure what the percentage is from one factor to another

They are factory threaded for Krieghoff chokes

    regards from Iowa

It doesnt have a step- it ramps up to the same height as a step rib and tapers from 10mm-5mm

These are very hot barrels for sporting clays shooters but should work fine for trapshooters who find the bulk of a normal K80 32 inch too much

    regards from Iowa

...so it's the 8mm rib then? I have a very recent 32" step rib, brand new (fired a box only), with factory screw chokes, new style bead - is it worth a trade???

They are lighter because the rib is smaller and it is 31 1/2 " instead of the old 32".

I looked at the chart and dont see the part about "with a choke tube in each barrel" I think you added that- you state that it says that in the chart but I dont see it. If it does say that as you claim- please cut and paste that here.

My 32 inch step ribbed barrels do weigh 3 pounds 12.4 onces "without choke tubes" -- now they do have some gold and engraving on them-- not sure if that matters

In other words the sporting barrel weighs 2.9 onces less than the trap barrel- both with choke tubes--

I might be wrong about all of this but did repeat it from an article I had read and from a poster that had posted his ad the same day that I posted mine-

Factory choked tubed barrels are heavier because of the bulge in the barrel-- the tubes are on top of that -- tell me if I am reading the chart wrong-- and if they were going to include choke tube weight-

they would specifiy which choke tube woudlnt they? steel weighs more than titanium maybe? full choke weighs more than skeet

lol- probably- and actually this barrel is 1/2 inch (as mentioned by another poster) shorter- I mean it was intentionally designed to handle differently

Well I am not sure we have cleared this up but we certainly have determined that the weight difference isnt a great deal ------------

It is the barrel (designed to swing easier) sporting clays with the 10-6 mm rib ( maybe it is all marketing) regardless

The first question anyone would have when considering the purchase of a barrel advertised as "lightweight" would be "What is the bore diameter?" I guess we're not going to get an answer to that question. Oh well.

    Gene,

Are these barrels ported and would you consider a trade for a set of 30" K-80 barrels?

    Thanks,

    Jon Reitz
