1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

Up for sale are two model 1891 Argentine mausers, cal 7.65x53. I inherited both of these rifles as is, so I don’t know who did the work, and while I am not much of a rifleman, they both seem to shoot and function very well. Both guns have bright shiny bores with crisp rifling, quality reblue jobs and jeweled bolts.

Rifle 1 is a DWM Manufacture sporterized rifle with shortened barrel, high gloss monte carlo stock with a stippled (not checkered) grip and foreend, bent over bolt, williams receiver sights and a Huber single stage adjustable trigger. Asking $375 ,O.B.O. plus $35 shipping to your ffl.

Rifle 2 is a Lowe manufacture and retains the military appearance, but the stock has obviously been shortened and has a bent over bolt. Stock is in excellent shape with several visible cartouches . This gun also has the single stage adjustable trigger, but the original trigger parts go with the gun. Asking $225,O.B.O plus $35 shipping to your ffl.

I also have a large quantity of 80-‘s vintage 7.65 Argentine ammo in original 15 round boxes
for sale at $40/10 boxes plus shipping, and I will throw in a few original stripper clips.

My first deer rifle was an 1891 Mauser that I bought at our local hardware store back in 1963 for $19.95 -- they had a large barrel filled with 1891 and Springfield Trapdoors. You pick 'em for a nickel under $20.00. If I had a time machine, I would have bought them all and retired on the profits selling them at today's prices. Those were the days...

Sported zed Mauser represent a good value to starting off hunters and those who know the value of the strong, constant feed Mauser design. For the money, they can't be beat; the 1891 cartridge is very, very close to the American 30-06 or .308. These will sell as fall hunting season approaches. I believe you have these priced well. FYI, hunting ammunition is available with approx. 150 grain soft pointed bullets. I don't know if some premium bullet designs such as Nosler Partitions or Barnes all copper are available, but you could certainly roll your own with an inexpensive set of dies...Cya

To colt m1911 A1: Thanks for the comments. In reading your post, I remembered that 2 1/2 boxes of Norma 150 Gr. soft points, velocity 2920, came with the guns. (in addition to the s--t load of military ammo) I will include one full box of the Norma ammo with each of the guns.

Nice to see these old 1891 military rifles that have been sporterized, too many people nowadays just buy a plain old Savage not realizing they could buy a relic for the same price.

I too, have to echo, I purchased one of these guns in 1961, from a sport shop in B'klyn NY on Atlantic Ave. Remember paying less than $20.00 & no paper work. Those were the days. Bought a Remington 721 in 264 Win Mag a few months later--don't remember what I paid for it.
