1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

I was digging through some stuff today and stumbled on an owners manual and instruction manual from a gun that I haven't had since the 80's. What a piece of crap it was, but I still have the manuals. I'm glad to see this gun long gone, it was garbage and never worked worth a crap and nobody could ever figure it out. It was one of those guns that just seemed to have a mind of its own. One day, it would cycle fine, the next day it would be a single shot. The only auto that I've ever owned that was worse was my Winchester 1400 and I don't even want to go there.

Anyway, if someone wants this, just Email my website and it's yours. I'm happy to finally rid myself once and for all of any memories of this gun.

    PM sent

LOL I have both the S&W and the 1400....my son went 125 straight with the winnie!

    ;-)

Actually, when I got the S&W used, it was a single shot - the problem was the mag tube was 180 degrees out of position, and the ports didn't line up. you really gotta make sure the locking ring is tight.

OK, I received your PM and it will be in the morning's mail. The 1400 was without a doubt the most pathetic firearm I've ever owned. I got totally screwed by some old guy THAT KNEW it didn't work and when I say it didn't work, that would be an understatement. Later, I learned that the guy that sold it to me yucked it up with his buddies on how he "dumped that POS on some greenhorn".

I just didn't know any better. I figured with a name like Winchester, it just had to be good. Big mistake. The Smith was pretty much the same story, but I got it new, so had nobody to blame but myself. I traded that piece of crap in for an 1100 which I still have to this day.

What was the problem with the 1400? ONly issue (other than clenaing!) was a cracked trigger group base, and Winchester replaced the entire unit free ( OK...it was 25 years ago!)

Well, nobody could figure it out. That gun just couldn't go a round of Skeet without jamming up at least a few times. It went to a couple of different smiths who basically said "It's a POS and this is how they are".

I have seen other people with 1400's that have had much better luck and I have met lots of other who have had the same experiences that I have.

But this was over 30 years ago....just a bitter memory.

GOt the stuff, thanks a bunch.

Too bad you had tough luck with the guns. My kid just took 3rd in A class in the Gun Owners' Action League Crushing Clays Junior Trap shoot (48/50, then won a 5-person shootoff! :) ) with the 1400.

He may WANT a Citori, but he doesn't need one! LOL

    Thanks again and good shooting!
