    I am surprised that while you used Mobile 1 you didn't use non-synthetic, non-detergent motor oil like 30 wt. I have used that to wipe my guns down for years as suggested in the book Perazzi in America and it works very well. It removes finger prints and anything else that is there and I have yet to see any ill effects on the bluing. Granted, I do shoot in norther California but I still shoot when it is wet or damp although if it is raining I keep both my gun and me dry if possible.
