Based on the fact that one of the first things the dumcrats did when they took control was try to enact a FURTHER REACHING assault weapons ban,,you sure as heck should be able to come to a consensus. All you have to do is look at the words spoken by your anti-individual ownership presidential candidate. How could there be ANY doubt??

"all(and only)"? No, but close to it.

No but don't count on Obama Biden or Clinton to. Most Republicans are conservatives and believe in the rights of the Second amendment. Most Democrats are liberal's and the more liberal they are the more likely they are to vote against gun ownership. More important The next president will have a supreme court appointment and if it is a liberal one say good buy to any constitutional protection for your right to shoot.

Ted Strickland of Ohio underwent a "political conversion" to pro-gun status many years ago, due to the conservative southern district he represented...he is now the Democratic Governor of Ohio.

...but for every 1 of him, there's 15 Barney Franks.

As written in the Chicago Tribune, A quote from obama.

"I believe we need to renew--not roll back--this common sense gun law," Obama said. - In reference to the 1994 AWB

Obama sues to keep NRA ads off TV.

    Obama Wants NRA Ads Banned

    Saturday, September 27, 2008 8:10 PM

By: Newsmax staff Article Font Size

The Obama camp has been threatening television and radio stations to keep them from airing anti-Obama ads.

The latest target is the NRA and stations in Pennsylvania.

Earlier this week, the National Rifle Association's Political Victory Fund released a series of radio and television spots to educate gun owners and sportsmen about Barack Obama's longstanding anti-gun record. In response to the NRA-PVF ads, a clearly panicked Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) are doing everything they can to hide Obama's real record by mounting a coordinated assault on the First Amendment.

They have gone to desperate and outrageous lengths to try to silence your NRA by bullying media outlets with threats of lawsuits if they run NRA-PVF's ads.

The Obama camp is particularly angry with an NRA ad entitled "Hunter" which lays out Obama's record on gun control.

You can see the "Hunter" ad — Go Here Now.

Other NRA ads include "Way of Life" and another focusing on Joe Biden's record, "Defend Freedom, Defeat Obama."

This week, Obama's campaign general counsel Bob Bauer wrote seeking to censor the ads at stations in Pennsylvania.

"Unlike federal candidates, independent political organizations do not have a 'right to command the use of broadcast facilities,'" Bauer writes. "Moreover, you have a duty 'to protect the public from false, misleading or deceptive advertising.'"

"This advertising is false, misleading, and deceptive," Bauer continued. "We request that you immediately cease airing this advertising."

The NRA says Obama's camp are sending out these "intimidating cease and desist letters" to cable operators and television stations, threatening their FCC licenses if they run the ads.

The NRA charged that "Obama and the DNC have been using strong-arm tactics reminiscent of Chicago machine politics to try and cover up the truth and silence NRA by forcing the stations to assist them in hiding Obama's radical anti-gun record."

And now, Obama and the DNC have opened a new front in their assault on your First Amendment rights by calling on their followers to contact these station managers to demand that the stations not run NRA-PVF's ads.

NRA stands behind the accuracy of these ads, and NRA attorneys have responded to the Obama campaign's despicable and abusive attempt to trample on the First Amendment by sending a thorough rebuttal to station managers. This rebuttal clearly and conclusively refutes the Obama campaign's fallacious claims that the ads are inaccurate.

The NRA has set up a Web site detailing its position on Obama at www.gunbanobama.com.

A copy of the NRA's letter to station, written by its counsel Cleta Mitchell, follows below:

    MEMORANDUM

    CLIENT-MATTER NUMBER

    999100-0130

    TO: Station Managers

    FROM: Cleta Mitchell, Esq.

    Counsel to National Rifle Association

    DATE: September 25, 2008

RE: Documentation for Advertising by National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund ("NRA-PVF")

This firm serves as counsel to the National Rifle Association (“NRA”) and the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund ("NRA-PVF"), which is the federal political action committee of the NRA and the sponsor of certain advertising purchased and soon-to-be purchased on your station. It has come to my clients’ attention that the Obama for President campaign is engaging in an effort to prevent or stop the airing of certain ads by NRA-PVF, falsely alleging that the ads are ‘inaccurate’. The Obama presidential campaign apparently relies on an article appearing in the Washington Post on September 23, 2008 to support its contention hat the NRA-PVF ads should not be aired.

The Washington Post is hardly an objective news source on any subject related to the issues to which the NRA is dedicated, having spent decades attacking not only the NRA but also fighting against the legislation and policies NRA supports to protect the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, as well as supporting every conceivable government proposal or policy any officeholder or candidate suggests to weaken and disrupt the guarantees of the Second Amendment. It is therefore no surprise that the Washington Post would now attack the NRA for advertisements which truthfully disclose the anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment record of Barack Obama, the candidate supported by the Washington Post.

Attached please find the point-by-point refutation of the Washington Post’s article about the NRA-PVF ads regarding Obama’s record on the Second Amendment, as well as an article disclosing the bias of the decidedly not neutral “FactChecker” on which the Washington Post article is ostensibly based.

The NRA devotes 100% of its time and resources to protecting the Second Amendment and fighting for government policies and legislation furtherance of the rights of the American people to keep and bear arms.

The legislative and policy record of candidates and officeholders such as Barack Obama are well known and documented by the NRA on an ongoing basis. NRA-PVF’s advertising during the 2008 election cycle is based on that extensive research and documentation, which is being furnished to you with this Memorandum.

Accordingly, we respectfully request that your station disregard the shamefully false assertions from the Obama campaign and its attorneys regarding the NRA-PVF ads and that the ads run in accordance with the purchase(s) made by NRA-PVF in the media buy.

Don't let them kid you guys. They KNOW we have a say in this thing. They might act like they don't think we amount to much, clinging to our guns and religion and all that, but they KNOW we are out here.

That is why they try this crap thru the courts. It's a lot less public when they do that. Why didn't he just come on TV and say that he wanted to have those taken off the air?

Something about the first Amendment maybe?

From what I heard on the radio from a women in his home state, he did this same kind of thing when he first ran for any type of office. He used the court system, he is a bottom feeding lawyer anyway, to make his opponent drop out.

Don't let them think they can count us out. Remember those bumper stickers? "I AM THE NRA, AND I VOTE".

Representative John Dingell hwas the one who coined the phrase, describing the BATF as 'jack-booted American fascists'.

The NRA then ran ads with Dingell's quote. Of course, as we all know of the media, they all accused the NRA of the phrase, which then led Bush ONE, to give up his membership. I guess he only watched CNN.

By the way, Bush Sr, only became a member in 1988...an election year.

Here's a link to more of Bush Sr.'s antigun moves...

I have been told, and maybe someone on here can tell me, that there is legislation in CA right now....... they are trying to make it so you can only buy one box of shotgun shells at a time...(not one case, one BOX).......holy smokes! Since I heard this from a Californian, I will believe it is true.... Can this stuff really be happening in America.....land of the free and home of the brave........They may not take our guns, but the sneaky way is to rule our ammo.......think about that.

we better get this election right, guys..........and hope that having a gun toting, moose hunting VP will help us all.........

Any of you guys ever hear of the United States Supreme Court? In case you haven't there is this group of judges that are the deciding factor in any quarrels we have here in America. They are the ones that are willing to make the last decision on any matter that comes up. All of their findings are constitutional decisions and they just don't say one thing and change it in a few days. They have two different times in this nations history changed positions on an issue and those changes were about 90 years apart. What I'm getting at is the insistance that you are afraid of loosing your gun owners rights. GET A CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The decision has just been made and you get to keep your guns. What's the beef about now?????? Move forward and don't worry about the fact that someone thinks you shouldn't get to own a gun. The court says you get to and that's the end of it. No more discussion. Only those that want you to send in your hard earned money for the payment of fighting for something you already have are keeping this fear going. The NRA is a group that didn't want the court to take on the case with Washington DC and the homeowner. I don't even remember his name. They didn't want the case to go that far. They knew what would happen and it did, the constitution was clear on the matter and they made the correct decision. What has the NRA got to spend your donations on now???? Stop sending them your money and buy more practice shells. The decision has been made for you and all across the country the cities and towns and suburbs are changing their no gun laws and getting them off the books. Only those that want you afraid are beating that drum. Think about it. Dan

Dahaub has anyone ever call you an Ostrich? You certainly act like one bury your head in the sand and say that, that.

As long as the Supreme Court decision has the words With reasonable restrictions in they will continue to try to regulate gun out of existence. If you can't understand that then you need to GET A CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just so you might stand a chance to overcome the sickness you have that is called Liberalism. Read the link at the Website Address above. The liberals in Washington(I am not talking Federal Government I am talking City Government)don't give a Rat's Patoot about the Supreme Court Decision. They like all liberals march to their own drummer.

If you think what I am saying is incorrect checkout 2str8 last post. No less than 6 posts on this thread alone that show Obama's way of dealing with anything that apposes his adgenda and still he says "The repukes do believe in the sanctity of the Second Amendment. It's the First, Fourth, the Geneva convention, Habeus Corpus and other legal formalities that they couldn't care less for." but of course this is rational thinking Right?

If you are a Democrat that is a decision you have made. If you are a gun owner and I have to assume you are. Only because you are here. Then answer a question for me.

How will you feel if everyone that say Obama is lying about his second amendment stance on Guns out turn out be correct? Then his administration regulates you out of any use for your guns.

If you don't want to give an answer to this question please don't try to change the subject just don't bother to respond as I have no patiences for more of the same.
