1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

Anyone want to buy this watch? Don't know value, you tell me. Will work, but doesn't want to run very long. A shake or two can get it going again.

    For Sale Watham Pocket Watch

Not much demand for 12 size 7 jewel pocket watches.

Yours appears to have a gold filled case.

Put it on E bay and see what happens 35.-50.00 would be good.

    Regards....Gerald

that's not the serial number of the watch, it's the case number. In those days the watch movement and case were bought separately. The watch is worth about $30 bucks...

PS: Waltham was a great watchmaker...

    Gerald and Slugo seem knowledgeable.

That being said, I offer $40.

Slugo is right on the mark at $30. I have pocket watch collection and keep an eye on the values of most.

Years ago there was a watch maker named Tates. However, the watch business was very competitive and they wanted to expand their offerings. Since they had thousands of watch cases, and since America was expanding to the West, they decided to make compasses. Based on their watch making reputation, they sold compasses hand over fist.

Unfortunately, after a year or so, it was discovered that the metal used to make the compass casings had a bad effect on the compass. The result was that the compass directons were almost always wrong, sometimes by 90 degrees or even more.

That led to the famous old saying: He who has a Tates's is lost!

    Shoot well!
