While at an ATA shoot this weekend the subject of factory ammo bought at the Grand was brought up. This individual said that the State of IL was loosing to much money off sales tax from shells bought at the Grand and he said that the
State was going to require shooters to purchase all shells at the Grand. Question is can we bring reloads or do we have to purchase ammo at the Grand for year 2008?

    Thank You Gary R

Hmmmm...Walmart in Sparta, Illinois heard the same thing.... Said the IDNR/WSC told them that. Will check with the Walmart sporting dept manager in the A.m.

This is from the 2008 Grand American program though..

    AMMUNITION
Only 12-gauge and 20-gauge shotguns may be used in the competition. New shell purchases will NOT be
mandatory at the Grand American. Shooters will be able to bring their own shells (including reloads) or may
buy shells through Gamaliel Shooting Supply at the shell house at retail pricing. The shellhouse will be closing
    at 6 p.m.

Reloads and factory shells of appropriate weight and speed will be permitted at the 2008 Grand at Sparta, just as Jim has quoted.

I hope this remains the standard for years to come.
