I want to thank and congratulate the folks at Markham Park as well as the FTA for organizing a great event this weekend. We all had fun meeting new and old friends while enjoying the competition. An excellent lunch was provided both days as well.

The weather was HOT and humid, but we managed to avoid rain and lightning the entire weekend. Actually, pretty good for S. Florida.

There were 4 kids that recorded their first 25 straight who's hats were apporpriately christened by about 20 shooters. It was quite a sight seeing all those kids together on the line to shoot the hats.

There was a draw to shootoff for custom earplugs on Saturday and another for an Ipod on Sunday. Saturday evening they also had a shoot-n-out starting at the 28 line for some very nice knives. The kids looked like old friends having a great time together.

On Sunday a giant (at least 4' long) iguana decided to visit the line before being chased away.

Great job everyone. Thank you! (Next year, nix the lizard, HA!)

    Tom,

Thank you for the compliments. All of us at Markham worked very hard to make sure that the 1st Florida Youth Championship went as smooth as possible. It was an amazing turnout considering the weather and it being Fathers Day on Sunday.
