Flags used to be lowered for "famous"(aka Hero's) people. Now they lower the flag for just about anyone a Politician knows.

Ask your local Representative, he or she Might know!

One of the long time employees that worked the trap line for many years was the son of one of the other long time employees--(chuck freeman--the fellow that looks like jack fishburn.) He is the white haired guy that runs around in the golf cart. His son died and they are showing respect,. They want to build a memorial garden in front of the flag poles for him. Not sure how old he was but i think in his 40's motordoc

They have been lowered around here all summer and no one knows why. Mostly local government flags so you can't find anyone to ask. Anyone have a real clue? It turned into one of those nagging curiosities. ask.com, google news does not show anything. I am hoping it is for our military of which we loose on a daily bases and of which they should stay lowered.

My condolences to the family at Cardinal - and I can understand the local folks wanting to pay tribute, but this is the US flag we're talking about. But, being done everywhere. That fat pig chrisite lowered the flags all over his state to honor Whitney Houston. Guess you can't get any lower than that.

Thats funny because Flag Etiquette on the above website says

"The flag is to be flown at half staff in mourning for designated, principal
government leaders and upon presidential or gubernatorial order"

He is the Governor of NJ isn't he gubernatorial order should mean it is his decision not your.

I talked with chuck today. His son was 49 and in no pain., All of a sudden he did not feel good.. They went to ohio state university hospital and found he had cancer. Went for treatment and died about 1 month later. No pain but the cancer got him. Chuck said he was happy that his son did not suffer but misses him much. You all know the hurt when you loose someone. motordoc

    Who died?

    America.

Killed by high taxes, special interests, massive entitlements, lost jobs, oppressive regulations, bloated government, and lost rights.

America is survived by by its cousin, Tyranny.

Of course this doesn't work for this case, but you can look up why it's being flown at half staff at...

    www.halfstaff.org

My condolences go out to the man's family on his loss. I don't know him but see him around cardinal all the time...

Hey Yakimaman, I don't know where your from, but it can't be from New Jersey.
Gov Christie is the best thing to happen to Jersey in a long time. As far as Whitney Houston goes, she was a local hero. She donated millions of dollsrs to build schools and repair churches. I don't necessarily agee with it but I certainly understand.
