we all thought that all war memorials were memorialized by flags flying at half staff from sunrise to sunset. but memorial day is not the case: it only runs from sunrise until noon. anybody know why? thanks

It's never wrong to leave your flag at full staff.

You are correct 221. Even so, if you wanted to fly your own US flag at half staff to honor a friend who recently passed, I wouldn't complain about it.

Flag must be raised to full staff then lowered to half staff. It is not correct to just raise it to half staff and stop. Jim Henry
