Got my first pheasant of the year today. I was on my way to shoot skeet in Amarillo and hit him dead center with my front license plate. He was flying though so I think it was a good kill. Had a chance to rid the world of a medium rattlesnake on the way home. It was a good day although the wind was blowing about 35MPH. I know it's hard to believe, windy in the Texas panhandle????

    Shoot safe, John

The pheasant was a rooster, I don't know about the snake. I have heard that female rattlesnakes are more aggressive than males. I'm trying hard to not find out.

    Shoot safe, John

The rattlesnake is believable but the pheasant had to be a transit...

We don't have wild pheasants in northern Minnesota but we do have large Timber Wolves. Saw a huge wolf approx. 1 mile west of Cohasset this AM around 11 crossing 4 lane hwy # 2. Wasn't really scared just a steady trot across the road. Beautiful coat, I don't think it's missing any meals. Glenn

I was driving down the freeway one time and a phesant came flying across in front of me and I nailed him with the upper left part of the windshield and it hit so hard it sailed over to the other lane of the freeway and hit a highway patrolmans car on the left front fender, I'll be damned if he didnt turn around and give me a ticket for flipping him the bird. LOL

I lived in the panhandle for about 18 years and this is the first pheasant I have ever seen. We went to South Dakota two weeks ago and saw about a thousand, the first hour.............Gotta tell ya, the old Benelli was vibrating and ready to go. We must have seen 500 crossing one dirt road.

    Shoot safe, John
