It comes as no surprise to me that she has no regard for the taxpayers money. She hates America and thinks that it is her right as the wife of the annointed messiah to command a staff of servants.

It all boils down to class. You would never expect Either Bush 41 or 43, or Reagan to act in this manner. These people treated the staff as human beings and not as servants. Most of the democrats are like the nouveau rich. They have to flaunt their money or title through conspicuous displays of wealth or power. Barry and Michelle are no different. They are low class individuals who pretend to be for the common man, but treat them with disrespect. I would bet that they do not treat the protective services very well.

They are communists who detest America. I believe that the people of this country are intelligent enough to make the right choice. He will end up making carter look like the best president of the past fifty years.

These people are nothing more than "mooches and grifters". When you're elected president you and your IMMEDIATE family move to the White House. Where in the realm of common sense and social correctness does it allow for your mother in law and no telling who else to move in and mooch off of the taxpayers money?????

The whole bunch are social and moral retards.

Do a Google or Snopes search on "First Ladys Staff" to find the truth. The current FL's staff is no bigger than many other FL's.

    Mixer,

You are correct about the size of her staff but the cost of hers is 3 times more than those before her.

    Daddiooo,

Of course the costs are higher. Salarys rise to keep pace with cost of goods and services.

Her husband ran on a platform of change. Private industries are laying off and certainly not giving out cost of living raises. Michelle's staff and it's payroll are unacceptable during the current economic enviroment. There are many perks that go along with working for the first lady. White House positions are coveted. They could find highly qualified, "lady's in waiting" for substantially less. Kim

Exactly what perks go along with working for the first lady? I would agree though that some White House positions are coveted. Wouldn't you like a job that you might be out of in 4 years and positively in 8. Highly Qualified "lady's in waiting" can only be hired at the GS salary determined for their postions. They can't be hired for "substantially less". I am also certain that most, if not all, of the First Lady's staff would take exception to the term "Ladies in Waiting". You might want to check their job descriptions first.

Dennis, They work in the Old Executive Building that adjoins the White House. They are considered employees of the White House. When they leave their positions they get to use their connections to spin off into higher paying private sector jobs. I see it happen all the time. I am not referring to the women that are currently employed by Michelle...simply ladies in waiting...other applicants, a play on words. Living in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area there are 1000's of applicants that covet White House positions. As for the pay scale, considering the grave condition that our economy is in, maybe it's time that the government stop spending and like the private sector make adjustments in the pay scale and staffing. Million's of people are losing their jobs and government spending has increased. Link to pay scale above. Average "household income", not individual income, is 50K. Kim

P.S. To put it in perspective the Vice President only makes 55K more than her Chief of Staff. Give me a break...

At least someone know how to create jobs. Lord Soetoro should have invited his buddy Hugo to the "Jobs Summit" today.

"Russia building arms plants in Venezuela

CARACAS (Reuters) - Russia is building arms plants in Venezuela to produce AK-103 automatic rifles and cartridges and is finalizing contracts to send 53 military helicopters to the Andean nation, Moscow's envoy to Venezuela saidMonday

Ambassador Vladmir Zaemskiy told a news conference that Russian engineers and Venezuelan construction firms were building the rifle and cartridge plants which, when operational, would employ more than 1,500 workers.

    It Takes A Nuclear Village
He gave no completion date for the plants under construction in the central state of Aragua.

Details about Moscow's military shipments and projects have been scarce since socialist President Hugo Chavez's government began signing military agreements with Russia back in 2001.

In recent years, Venezuela has bought over $4 billion in weapons from Russia, including 24 Sukhoi fighter jets. Critics say Caracas is fueling an arms race in Latin America. Chavez says he is modernizing the military for defensive purposes

When Chavez he returned from his latest trip to Russia in September, he said Russia had agreed to lend Venezuela $2.2 billion to purchase 92 tanks and an S-300 missile system that can shoot down fighter jets and cruise missiles.

Two years ago, Russia agreed to sell the same S-300 system to Iran but has dragged its feet over delivering the weapons amid U.S. and Israeli concerns they will be used to defend Iran's nuclear installations.

Zaemskiy declined to provide details on delivery dates for the tanks and missile system. He could not say if Moscow already disbursed part of the $2.2 billion loan.

But he added that "big contracts" were being finalized to deliver 53 "Mil" helicopters that can be used by the Venezuelan armed forces and for humanitarian missions.

Between 2006 and 2008, Moscow delivered a total of about 59 military helicopters to Venezuela, according to data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.

Russia was also providing "a complete range" of military spare parts to Venezuela, Zaemskiy said. It is also transferring technology and building technical maintenance centers.

"As a result of this cooperation, Venezuela's defense capacity has increased considerably, as well as its level of technological independence," the ambassador said ."
