I shot an ATA shoot this Saturday and Sunday (today) and finally broke my first 50 straight in singles on Saturday during the first 100 birds of 200 of the day. During the second set of 100 I ran the last 75 to also shoot my first 75 straight. I was able to finish the day with a 196x200 and then go into a shoot off for my class and ran 25 there to beat the other shooter by 1. So 221x225 for Saturday. It took me a year and a half to finally nail the 50 straight so I was surprised (and very pleased) to knock out the 75 straight in the same day!

Today didn't go so well though. I had a ton of unnecessary misses to go 188x200 from the 20. Falling 2 birds short per set of 100 to gain a punch, so on the 20 I remain. The 188 was good enough to tie for runner up but I got to the shoot off and then I got schooled. :(

Very nice shooting Rich. Congrats on reaching your 50 and 75. You were definately in the Zone that day. Don't you love how life gives us that reality check so soon after. I bet its got ya hooked now though if you weren't already before.

    grntitan,

I got hooked four weeks after I started when I ran my first 25. Since then there's been no going back. Now I want to knock out a 100 and 200 straight.

Mt. Morris is one of the very best clubs you will find in NY State !!!

We watched Chris Vendel shoot 100 straight on the doubles field a few years back. He said those targets were beautiful that day..As always !

Rich, no good deed goes unpunished! I did my first 50 last fall, then continued on to 75, finally missed #97 out of a hundred. Yesterday was the first time in a month I was able to break 25. I hope I ended that slump. Will know tomorrow. Anyway, great shooting. Mike

    twotimer,

I got my punishment in the handicap shoot off for runner up for my yardage. By the end of the second day I was drained from allergies, the high heat and very high humidity.

But, did you make any money on the perfect 50's??? On my first round of 98 I made $1,204.00 from the 50's pool. I only got 75% of the pot. Best suckers bet, when it pays... BIG JIM
