What is your experience with finger grooves on a trap stock? Are they worth the cost and do they help that much?

Finger grooves (more properly called "grasping grooves" in official M1903 nomenclature) supposedly help to grasp or hold the forearm more comfortably. I would think this is pretty much a subject of individual taste and style. Some shotgun forearms have the top area on each side cut back a bit with the bottom more full and rounded, serving the same purpose (depending on how one "grasps" the forearm. Don't think I have seen a forearm with actual "grooves" ala the M1903 stock. I suspect some would like the feature, and some not. It would be entirely up to the individual.

Buy some Rat Grip and try them out. It's easy to do.
