Just want to put the spotlight on the Fennville Rod & Gun Club Youth ATA teams.

This is the first year Fennville has sponsored youth teams in the AIM ATA and both the youngsters and older group sure have made our gun club proud. Lots of bragging to be done!

Here's the news on the youngsters after the Mason shoot from Perry, their Coach "Fennville's SuB JR Team has won 3rd place in the AIM online Championships. Our scores from Mason were entered for the central zone of the U.S. and we took 3rd. Congratulations Sub Jrs. Check it out on ATA website shootata.com,aim program results.the "sub group" - young ones - have done an awesome job for their first year shooting.."

We watched both the older and younger teams shoot at Jackson, MI on Sat and they did another fine job. Jordan, on the older team, shot a 97 with 3 misses in the 1st round, I think on the first 2 stations, then went 75 straight on the next 3 rounds. Eric was close behind with a 94 with one 25 straight and the other members of the team all improved as well.

The younger team did great with Grant showing a huge improvement over his Mason score, his face was a permanent smile once he finished up. The rest of the kids also all improved on their previous scores.

These kids are really working hard and stepping up to the plate and will do nothing but help promote trapshooting - they're wonderful ambassadors to the sport. What a joy to see them having such success!

Just had to brag about our youth shooters. Hope every club is having the same fun moments with the kids - even if not organized shooting, just seeing them come out and give it a try.

May have to move some of the kids up on our Friday Night Fun Shoots to the A class! They all outshoot this old gal and I'd love to have them as a partner!

    Nice Post CindyFenn!

It has been fun shooting on Fennville's Youth team and traveling around to other clubs to particpate in shoots. I think all the kids are having fun and the scores seem to be reflecting it. Its neat to see a whole squad of youngsters out representing the Fennville Rod and Gun Club and carrying a positive attitude no matter the score!

Another Congrats to Jordan to his outstanding shooting and sporting a 75 straight badge on his way to Class C champion! I was just happy to be standing next to him, makes my 25 straight seem slim!

Thanks for all the young shooters and parents/families that made the drive to Jackson to support us! Its neat to see so many Fennville Rod and Gun Club members supporting the kids and club!

The team is doing great, and seem to be having a lot of fun doing it.We must recognize Perry who puts in a lot of time and effort in teaching these young people how to shoot and how to show good sportsmanship. He is a good teacher.

    thank you Perry.

It is always a pleasure to see young kids enjoying themselves and having fun on a trap line. Your young people represented themselves and your club very well. I got a kick out of a young man who ran the last 75, he was more proud of that then the 97 he broke.

Keep it up they are the future of trapshooting.

Congratulations, to all the kids, coaches and helpers!

It's great to see people working with the kids. It's also very rewarding.

You keep working with them and one day they will crank their engines and go from 0 to 100 in a flash.

    Good luck,

    Mr. Charles

    Hook, you got that right!

A huge thanks goes out to Perry and Don for stepping up and leading the teams for Fennville Gun Club. We have never had many young shooters until Perry and Don got involved and followed through. From getting certified to coach, taking the time to work with each individual shooter, getting our shooting vests embroidered (and Cindyfenn for putting F.R.G.C patches on), getting us registered and signed up at shoots, and of course always being patient and supportive. We (from a shooters point of view) all thank the time and effort you guys have dedicated, and also donating your winnings to the Fennville Youth Teams! Thanks guys!!!

Thanks to the others who have posted on this thread. Its good to see comments and compliments from others around the area who have shot with us. (Even if you were one of the ones to beat us!!! HAHA...that is the name of the game!)
