    Sure.

Hodgdon's 'unofficial' recommendation is to use any FGM&PB load, plus ½gn to get the FGM ballistics.

If you want to duplicate the classic handicap Fed Paper, it's 22gn PM, 12C1 (12S3, now) wad, F209A and 1-1/8oz.

I load Papers & PB mostly for hunting: from 24gm of #10 bumblebee & hummingbird loads to 1¼ of #2 for Goose & Crane and repo men.

PB is pretty hard to overpressure, and nothing smells better.

Corey, beware of majiic happening and suddenly getting a lot of new friends offering you a cold lite beer ...

On a pattern board, I don't know anybody who can tell any difference between a C1 and an S3 ... whatever ... God shoots Federal Papers, PB powder and 12C1 wads, and everybody knows that.

a 12c1 weighs one hell of a lot less then a 12s3.It's why I love them. That and the fact that a 12s3 and 23 grains of PB doesn't work regardless of what any manual says.

I use 12c1's and the Claybuster replacement that we call the red 8. Jeff

The best replacement for the C-1 is the 12S-4. That's an ounce and a quarter wad, but it fits perfectly in a paper hull with a 3dr charge of GreenDot. You can't make an S-3 fit....too tall.

Federal papers plus slow buring powder equals pin holes or better yet the hull coming out of the chamber burning(yes flame) after first or second reload. Love the smell.

I second the use of the Federal 12S4 for this load.

I tried the 12S3 from Federal and claybuster and could not get the crimp like the original Federal 12C1. The 12S4 gives you enough room for a proper crimp.

Yea.. you can use the 12s4 as well and it does work great. The claybuster works even better at half teh cost. Jeff
