I would like to try reloading some Federal paper hulls with my 9000G. Do I need a special crimp starter? I thought once I read this; however, I cant seem to find the info. Any info or part numbers would be a great help. I do not see anything on the MEC website. Maybe I am looking for the wrong name or part. Or maybe I dont need a thing. Thanks, gjmen

The part number your looking for is 843912S it is a starter crimp smooth. I have used a 8 crimp and still works good. Josh

Use the smooth cone, nothing else works as well. Set it as low as you can.

I loaded thousands over the years with two different mecs and never used anything. Before you buy a smooth crimp starter, take your 8 point off and try with nothing.

I use a 6 point crimp starter I've had since the 60's. Check with Mec.
