DownRange Versalite! The best longrange 1 1/8oz wad there is. Heck, I even changed powder so I could load this wad more.

I use XL-1's from Downrange for my 1oz. loads, and Versalite's (The best wad made, period!), also from Downrange, for my 11/8oz handicap loads. Trust me on this one, I've tried them all, at one time or another, and these two wads are the very best I have ever used, including factory offerings. Not only do they pattern great, they leave almost no plastic in the barrels. Very slick loading at a very good price. While just about any wad will do the job, these do the job better for me, through my reloader and through my gun.... I currently have 4 cases of both just so I don't run short... Just my opinion... DownRange TGT12 for 1 oz, and DownRange Versalite for 1 1/8 oz. Most consistent patterns I've ever experienced!

It depends on which hull I'm loading and what I intend to use the shell for. I use the Red Versalite, Rem Fig 8 or clone, Remington TGT-12 or clone, Federal 12S0 or clone and Federal 12S3 or clone. If Downrange makes a direct copy/clone, I'd prefer their wads over brand X. If not, Brand X it is! (Claybusters NOT Dusters) I have also used a lot of the Winchester WAA12, WAA12SL, and WAA12L wads and clones. I tend to use the Remington wads in Remington hulls and the AA wads in AA hulls. Federals go in straight walled hulls and the Red Versalite is for handicap at longer yardages and games with 1 1/8 oz. If I could ONLY have ONE wad, It would be a hard choice, but it would be a tie between the Remington Fig 8 and the Red Versalite. I probably use more of the TGT12 and Downrange clone than any other, since I shoot a lot of lighter 1oz loads. I've used light 1 1/8 oz for shoots where it counts as well.

Think Duster Wads. Blue, Green, or Clear. Best there is.

Throught all of the years, my absolute favorite is still the Federal 12C1 1 1/8 oz. in a Federal paper case.

Duster wads in Rem STS & Nitro hulls, I quit reloading
12 ga AA hulls, too many different configurations to keep up
with. Win HS hulls in .410 ga are great hulls, I load them
with Yellow Dusters as well. Rem SP410 wads work great in the
HS .410's, but they are too darned expensive.
