Im fairly new but have done some patterning with this shell and it compares to the sts light 1oz loads. Its a cheddite primer, downrange jammer xl1, 18 grains of promo, and 1oz of 8'or 8 and 1/2's.

I also like the previous load mentioned 1oz.18 gr.promo, cheddite primer DR XL1 wad and rem hull, but I wouldn't call it light,I load it with 7 1/2's and use it for handicap from the 23 yd.line.For singles I back the powder off to 17.2 gr. and use 8's.Jerry

Looks like it is a decent load, except if your crimps are a little dished in, it is because you are using a wad better suited for 1 1/8 oz of shot. Using a 1 oz wad will be better, Win WAA12SL or clone Claybuster 1100-12, Rem TGT 12, etc.

If you get a chance try Red Dot, Promo, Claydot, IMR 700X or Hodgdon Clays. These are faster powders and are more efficient that Green Dot. That said, if you feel that the extra pennies in cost is worth it, stick with Green Dot.

My current 1 oz loads for 16 yards is 17.0 gr of Hodgdon Clays, CB 1100-12, Fed 209A primer in the one piece Win AA hull.

Remington STS case, Remington 209 primer, 17.5 gr. Titewad powder, WW AA12SL wad or clone with #8 shot. A little over 1200 FPS. Easy recoil. Economical. But check a reloading manual and use a scale.

    Later, Ken

    Remington Hull

    Winchester Primer

Approximately 17 grains of Hodgdon CLAYS powder (I've gone from 16.8 to 17.2 grains without noticeable detrimental effects)

Downrange Neon Green XL-1 Wad (Pink WAA12SL, or Green Duster will work OK too)

1 ounce of 8 or 8-1/2 shot (or whatever your 1 ounce bushing throws...mine throws about 0.96 ounces actual mesasured)

For 16 yard singles, chilled shot is fine, and just about any shot will work.

Note, using this same load substituting Hodgdon TITEWAD works out basically the same, and TITEWAD is a little less costly.

Also I echo what Ken said.

Get a good scale, and use it. Actually measure powder drops.

Bushing charts are approximate, and don't match reality.
