I read a post here, some time back, about creating the "look" of fancy stocks by using "SHARPIES" to create wood patterns. If anyone knows of a source for such a book or instructions for this please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Les

I dont know if there is any articles on this process. Ive seen this done back in the 60s, It was hard to tell it wasnt real. Why dont you get some pieces of wood and practice? Maybe someone who has done this will add to this thread.

I'd like to know about this as well. Always thought there would be a way to do it.

Link to video on "drawing wood" with markers.

Another way is to stain surface with darker stain than surface and "dragging" a wood grain stamp.

You can find videos on the internet if you search "faux wood grain"
