Fat shotshell

    Does anybody know what gauge and/or use does this rather fat shell have? I found the picture on the web and have not seen anything quite like it.

    Very old 4 guage market hunter load or maybe that industrial thing they use for setting anchors in concrete.

    I saw them use it years ago, they were anchoring a 150 ton punch press.

    I believe it was from Remington.

    if it is a solid lead slug it could be for a kiln gun. Used to knock the slag off the walls of a kiln.

    Foghorn says it a KY back-up load, backs ya way up! :)

    More than likely a shell to tap the plug on steel furnaces. Hap

    if it has 7-1/2's in it it is probably for handicap If it has #8's it is probably good for 16 yard targets and if it has #9 shot in it it is probably for skkeet.

    I think i'm right, my 37mm flare next to a 3.5" 10ga loaded shell.
